Artwork

Logo, engraved copy and artistic layout are included in the price of your awards, when artwork is supplied in correct format. In order to provide the highest quality rendering of your logo, we prefer that you submit your image files in vector line art format.

What is vector line art?

Vector line art allows us to work efficiently with your logo to achieve the best possible rendering.

Vector file names most often end with either an .eps or .ai extension. When the logo is clicked on within the file, numerous lines will appear within the logo. If a box opens up around your logo, it is most likely not vector line art.

Our preferred file formats are .eps or .ai, cs2 or lower. While we will accept .tif, .pdf, .jpg, and .gif files, these will need to be converted to vector format at an hourly rate of $30.00. If your artwork will require more than 1 hour for conversion, your project manager will contact you with an estimate.

Standard Engraved & Etched Logos require black & white line artwork. Click here for specifications for custom emblem styles, including cast, die struck, etched and enameled.

Artwork Instructions for Custom 3D and Enamel Emblems

Crest-Craft’s skilled artists and craftsmen can transform your logo graphics into beautifully crafted Dimensional renderings that impart an added level of prestige and distinction to your awards and recognition selections. These emblem styles require one-time tooling charges, quoted separately based on the size and style best suited to your requirements.

Emblem Styles & Respective Artwork Requirements

2-Level, raised & recessed relief (2D)

For cast, injection molded, die struck and etched emblems *

Graphics are produced in single level, high / low relief. As with standard etched or engraved logos, this process requires black & white line artwork with no gray scale or shading. Black line represents raised surfaces, white represents recessed surfaces.

2D relief with color-fill

For cast, injection molded, die struck and etched enamel emblems *

Color fill can only be applied to recessed areas and adjacent colors must be separated and contained by raised metal. If color fill is desired, a separate image illustrating correct color placement is required.

Raised surfaces should be represented by a non-fill color. Full PMS (Pantone Matching System)* color matching is available in enamel and imitation cloisonné processes. Art work should indicate PMS color numbers

*Note: This link is provided for estimated color values only. Monitors and printers that have not been professionally calibrated for color matching will illustrate some degree of variance from actual PMS book color. To ensure an accurate PMS match, you should consult a printer or graphic designer in your area to view an actual PMS swatch book.

Multi-Level Relief (3D)

For cast, injection molded & die struck emblems

Multi-level relief imparts a very distinctive element to your awards. Although 3D tooling can often be produced from black & white artwork, some imagery, such as busts, landscapes and military hardware may require the submission of additional photographic reference images.
